Jackson Track and Field Success

On May 6 and 8, Jackson Middle School participated in a conference track and field meet at Elmhurst College. Out of nine schools, the Jaguar 7th-grade girls, 7th-grade boys, and 8th-grade boys all finished in first place! The Jackson 8th-grade girls finished in 2nd place.

Top performances by the 8th-grade boys include Adam Hajyasin, who won the Triple Jump (40′ 4″), and Long Jump (18′ 8″), which are also both school records. Odin Gay won the 200-meter dash (24.37 seconds) and came in 2nd in the 100M (11.93), which are also both school records. Finn Morgan won the 1600M run and 800M run. Leo Guerra took 2nd place finishes in 3 events: 800M run, Triple Jump and 4X400M Relay.

The 8th-grade girls’ top performances include Khloe Adiniji, who won the 200-meter dash and took second in the 100-meter dash.

Top performances by the 7th-grade boys include Leo Kingji, who went 30-for-30 winning his 3 events – hurdles and 4X100M relay with teammates Gio Vilardi, Shane Borkowski, and Lucas Stringini; and 4X200M relay with teammates Shane Borkowski, Tomas Rosales, and Jax Dyers. Michael Rayfus won the Discus with a 7th-grade school record throw of 100′ 8″, Hamza Abdoussi won the 1600M run, Max Pollak won the Shot Put, and Carter Harlan won the High Jump with a 7th-grade school record jump of 4′ 11″. Jimmie Biundo took 2nd place finishes in 3 events: 100M dash, 200M dash, and High Jump.

Top performances by the 7th grade girls include: Mia Wiatr winning the hurdles with a Jackson school record time of 17.56; the 4X200 relay team with a 7th grade school record time of 2:02.25 Sophia Amin, Brooklyn Stratton, Kennedy Rieger, and Peyton Petrine; the winning 4X400 relay team of Bella Knudtson, Brooklyn Bonino, Aubrie Bernero, and Lucy Franz; and Paige Simek with a 2nd place in the 800M run with 7th grade school record time of 2:42.06.

The Jaguars are coached by Norm Aliga, Dave Clot, Tim Feigh, and Mary Jane Neri.
