Jackson Middle School held its Bands & Choirs Winter Concert in the Willowbrook High School Auditorium on Dec. 6. The performance began with the Cadet Choir, Concert Choir and a Combined Cadet and Concert Choir, followed by performances by the Jackson Concert Band and Symphonic Band. The finale included a special visit from Santa Claus, who handed out candy canes to the audience.
“Tonight is very exciting for our sixth graders because this is their first band concert on stage, at Willowbrook, as middle schoolers,” said Jackson’s Band Director Joe Koppel.
Koppel said most students come with a great deal of energy before the concert, so the directors will use strategies, rituals and routines to help the students focus and perform their best.
Congratulations to all our students for a spirited performance. And special thanks to Band Director Joe Koppel, Choir Conductor Sarah Giordano, Accompanist Karen Anderson, the District 45 Music Boosters, and all those who help support our student musicians!
